Sorry to have such a boring blog post today, but I need to point out some new policies regarding shipping.
First some fun news: All sewing patterns now ship free for domestic and international customers! Including Ottobre Design magazines!
Now, onto other changes:
Domestic: Express Next Day shipping is now an option. It is also an option, at a reduced cost, as a substitute for free shipping.
International: Orders of $75 or more still get free shipping, however I'm now requiring insurance on these orders. The insurance rates are quite reasonable (see below) and will automatically be added to your order. Also, reduced cost Express Mail International is now an option as a substitute for free shipping. I encourage you to consider it as delivery is in 3-5 business days and it includes tracking. The cost is very reasonable as I subtracted out the cost I usually pay for free shipping and I'm only charging the difference. Canadian residents also have the option of reduced cost Priority Mail International, which also includes tracking.
Insurance rates for international packages:
$75-$100 = $1
$101-$200 = $2
$201-$300 = $3
$301-$400 = $4
$401-$500 = $5
New Shipping Schedule:
As many of you know, I'm a one-woman operation here. School is starting for my girls and there have been some changes to my husband's schedule as well. We are also a one-vehicle family, so I need to change the shipping schedule to allow for postal-carrier pick-up of my packages. Below you will find the new schedule. Please note, there may be exceptions to this schedule. Oftentimes your package will ship sooner. Rarely, there may be a delay in shipping and you will be notified.
Orders received:
After 12N on Friday - 5pm on Sunday = ship Monday
After 5pm on Sunday - 12N on Monday = ship Tuesday
After 12N on Monday - 12N on Tuesday = ship Wednesday
After 12N on Tuesday - 12N on Wednesday = ship Thursday
After 12N on Wednesday - 12N on Friday = ship Friday

HOLIDAY SHIPPING
I implore you to start consider your holiday sewing now. As the holidays draw near, postal services become overwhelmed and packages take much longer. Especially international packages. International customers, please note that any packages mailed after December 1st may not reach its destination by Christmas. Last year I had packages take 6-8 weeks to reach their Canadian destinations when mailed in December. I'm sure I'll be writing up a few more reminders as the season draws near, so please start thinking and planning ahead.
