Meet Cherri of Cherry House Quilts. Today she is going to tell us a little about what she made with organic cotton fabrics:

Modern Organic Fabrics: What did you make with organic cotton fabric?

Cherri: The first and only thing I have made so far with organic cotton was a quilt for Cloud 9 Fabrics for Spring Quilt Market (2010).

Modern Organic Fabrics: Which fabrics did you use?

Cherri: The fabric line I used was Beyond the Sea by Cloud 9.
Modern Organic Fabrics: What do you like about the fabrics?
Cherri: My goodness, I would have NEVER believed that there could be such a significant difference between organic cottons, and "regular" cottons.  The way that it feels...so soft!  To me, touching is believing; someone really must feel both fabrics to appreciate the difference.

Modern Organic Fabrics: Tell us about the quilt pattern.

Cherri: The Sand Pebbles 64" x 64" (named in honor of the movie) The pattern is made up of 4 mini quilts - 32" x 32" that can be arranged in a variety of configurations...it's pretty magical!
Modern Organic Fabrics: Anything else you'd like to add?
Cherri: Something that might be of interest to quilters - the organic cotton that I worked with had the properties of a batik in that the fibers seemed very dense; but the softness of the fabric is really in a class of its own!
Thanks for sharing, Cherri!
