I'm very excited about this new fabric that is currently on its way to the shop. This herbal-dyed fabric is an organic cotton cambric, which is a fine, lightweight cotton fabric, not as light as voile, but lighter than quilting cotton. It is dyed with herbs rather than synthetic dyes. Here are some of the dyes used:

Red Onion: used to create vibrant shades of orange, yellow, rust, brown
Turmeric: used for shades of yellow & orange
Pomegranate: used for shades of yellow & orange
Madder: used for Ash Pink, Madder Red & Sandalwood Red
Haritaki: used for Harda Cream & Leaf Green

I'm hoping the fabric will arrive by next Monday, click here to be notified when this fabric becomes available.

By the way, washing instructions for herbal-dyed fabric are similar to those for many fabrics. Hand wash or machine wash gentle cycle using cold water. Use mild liquid detergent, no bleach, no scrubbing. Dark colors may bleed.
