I'm very excited to add handloom fairtrade certified organic cotton fabric to the shop. This fabric is hand-woven in South India on traditional handlooms. The weavers use traditional looms and techniques that have been passed down through their families for generations.  They are organized in Self Help Groups which operate democratically and share their profits amongst their members like small co-operatives. The organic cotton is grown from non-GM seed in the northern part of India and is certified by both Control Union and the Fairtrade Foundation.

There is a three month lead time for the fabric to be woven after the order is placed, so I hope to see the fabric in the shop by October.  Please see below for colors. This handloom fabric is shirting weight.
