Blogging Your Way

My Blog

This is the last week of an online blogging course I've been taking. If you've noticed some changes to my blog, now you know why! I can't speak highly enough of this class:

Blogging Your Way is taught by Holly Becker of Decor8 blog with photography and styling tips taught by Leslie Shewring of A Creative Mint blog.

I'm so happy that I took this class, it helped me fine tune both the technical aspects of blogging and mostly my vision for my blog. Holly Becker is an inspiring, motivating and ethical teacher. She shares everything she knows about blogging. If you have a blog that you want to get serious about I would highly recommend the class. She'll be teaching it again in fall, but don't drag your feet when you see the announcement - her classes sell out fast.

Which leads me to my original purpose for today's post. I'd like to share some of the many fabulous blogs I discovered through this class. Really, there are so many I'd like to share and I'm sure I'll be introducing you to more in the future. Here are a few of my favorites (which will be added to my blogroll soon).

Decor8, as mentioned above, is Holly Becker's blog. If you haven't visited her blog yet you really should take a look. Her style is so pretty and lovely to look at. I really love most of what she posts. She discovers new stylists, photographers and artists as well as shops and magazines. Her blog is one of my "must reads".

A Creative Mint is the blog of the other Blogging Your Way teacher, Leslie Shewring. Her blog focuses on beautiful photography and styling with an emphasis on color.

Indianablue: lovely photographs, beautiful artwork and awesome stitching. I'm particularly fond of her "about me" page - references to Little House on the Prairie and Dallas bring me right back to my childhood, too.

Pick & Post.  I love the perspective on design and life from people all over the world and Gosia offers a Polish perspective. Her designs are lovely and her Friday Fridge preaching is fun!

Kootut Murut: A blog from Finland with gorgeous photography, two dogs and a Monday morning sketch featuring Jutta's wonderful drawings.

Sweet Jessie: she sews, embroiders, designs, takes great pictures and has a nice blog. Love her!

Zuhause: An American ex-pat living in Germany, Juliette blogs about art, design, and a little of this and that. She conducts some nice interviews as well.

Colorway: Orange and Green

Orange & Green

When people ask me what my favorite colors are, I always answer, "orange and green, but not necessarily together." Orange and green just seem like they don't match. However, because these are my favorite colors I do have a number of things around the house in these colors. And, I've developed a certain affinity for the combination. It's almost a tropical combination, a reminder of sun and flora, so needed during the long and dreary winter. Here's a look at a little of what I found.
