Free To Grow by Nancy Mims

IMG_3272

I showed a sneak peek of this collection during Quilt Market. Free To Grow by Nancy Mims for Robert Kaufman is a certified organic cotton quilting fabric collection that coordinates with Robert Kaufman's new Pure Organics solid color organic cotton fabric collection.

This is quite a large collection and I may have to bring it in a bit at a time. Here's where I need your help. Which of the following three colorways is your favorite? Do like them all? Is there one you don't like? Also, I'll let you in on a little secret here, this fabric is priced a little closer to conventional quilting fabrics. Would that make you more likely to buy an entire set of one colorway of such a large collection? Would you be interested in charm packs of any of these color collections?

I would very, very much appreciate your input and comments on these fabrics, as I'm really buying for YOU! What do you think?

I like all the colorways. I am more likely to buy a whole collection if it's moderately priced. It's hard to choose which one is my favorite. :)

I can see why you're having a hard time making a decision - these are lovely. I'm biased toward the summer colorway, because it would go best in my house. I am not really drawn to the browns of the first -- just not my style.

My favorites in order:

Summer
Garden
Spring

Without a doubt, I love the SPRING!

How exciting! So nice to hear that this line will be a tad bit lower in pricing! :)

I *absolutely love* the Summer colorway, both as a set and as stand alone prints. Garden comes in a very close second for the same reasons. As colors, I often like blues and browns, but for some reason, the Spring colorway is a definite third. I don't know that I'd be moved to buy an entire set of the Spring colorway--maybe individual pieces though.

Hard though, because as I look at the picture from Quilt Market, Garden looks fabulous, and the colors from Spring look very nice! Not sure if the swatches, or the photo are truer to color.

Honestly, I don't think any of the colorways are bad. I do like them all. It's just that the Summer and Garden call me the most.

I wouldn't buy a charm pack, but I would definitely consider a FQ pack. I wish more stores sold FQs cuts and FQ packs.

Thanks so much for sharing with us!!! :)

I am a huge fan of pink and green together. I'm actually looking for the perfect quilt pattern for my preppy fabric hoard. I like the Garden colorway best.

I love the garden - I'll be getting a few of those for sure!

I love the spring colorway the best and the summer colorway is great too.

I love the Garden colorway. I would like either fat quarter packs or charm packs. I am more apt to buy half yards if the price is right.

All the colorways are attractive however I think the garden (pink) is the most limiting--as it lacks an ability to adapt for the male gender. Spring is the least limiting and my favorite, followed closely by Summer.

So for me:
1. Spring
2. Summer
99. Garden

I am partial to the summer. I think I'd be thinking of Fall already by the time it arrives ... but that's me and and thinking of clothes -

I'm partial to Summer, but I have a yellow/grey thing going on these days.
To be honest, I never buy an entire line, it just isn't the way I work.

This is a great collection and the designs are amazing. So nice to see people actually care that they turn to eco-friendly fabrics. I should say that organic fabrics never looked this good, the collection is an A.
