Working on ...

WIP - Girls Shirt

More kids' clothes! Next week is the Kids Clothes Week Challenge on Elsie Marley, which I went ahead and signed up for because that seems to be all I'm sewing lately anyway! It's not that my darling girls  need clothes (we have some very generous relatives and plenty of really nice hand-me-downs) but they love it when I make things for them. I promised them each 2 items of clothing before I move on to a new project and I really like making kids clothes. I'm a firm believer in doing what interests you or it wouldn't be fun. Right now, I'm interested in kids clothes. The tide is soon to turn, though, as I've put together a simple quilt design that I'll be working on very soon and I'm so excited to get started. I might have to start having 2 projects going at once. I like to finish a project before I start a new one otherwise I end up with an impossible WIP pile. Also, we have a teeny tiny house, so I really don't have room to leave half-finished projects lying around. I sew in our dining room (although, I'm not above forcing the family to eat in the living room some nights if I'm "at the point of no return" on something), but I can't leave projects out indefinitely. I do have one big project (quilt) packed up in a box in the basement, where it's sadly out-of-sight and out-of-mind. It will be brought up and finished this summer. I promise. But I'm thinking two projects at once won't get out of hand, right? Then I can work on whichever I'm in the mood for :)  For today, though, it's a shirt for my 9-year-old.

love the colors on that fabric. I'm the same with my kids they absolutely don't need another piece of clothing due to generous relatives and friends yet I still make them things. I've got a project in the works for my baby boy right now. I'm taking a short hiatus on clothes making for my girls. =) Have fun sewing!

I love the colors of this fabric! How fun that your kids get such cool things made by you - I love that!! I don't know how you find the time to do all of that :)
